Jageshwar Mahadev Temple

Jageshwar Mahadev is one of the principal temples situated in the temple premises. The temple has two dwarapalas (door guardians) in the form of the armed Nandi and Skandi. This is a west facing temple of Lord Shiva. Here, Shiva is worshipped in the form of Nagesh/Jageshwar. In the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the Shivlinga is divided into two parts. The larger one depicts Shiva and smaller one his consort Parvati.

Maha Mrityunjaya Temple

The Maha Mrityunjay temple is the biggest and oldest temple in the Jageshwar temple complex. This temple of Shiva is eastern facing and the Linga is worshipped as the saviour from death. The unique linga has an eye shaped opening. Pilgrims believe that reciting the Maha mritunjaya Mantra is a fruitful, auspicious and powerful method of self realisation, removal of evil effects, and freedom from all kinds of fears, illness and negativity.

Jhakar Sam Tample

Jhankar Saim Mahadev is one of the famous temples in the Jageshwar temple complex in Almora district. This temple is situated south of Jageshwar. Legend has it that during the Tapasya by Lord Shiva, Demons obstruct His penance. Then God Jhanker Saim come into being as Trinetra and sends his ganas to kill the demons.

Dandeshwar Shiv Temple

Dandeshwar Temple is a famous temple located in Jageshwar of Almora district. This holy temple is known for its various styles. This temple has been protected by the Archaeological Survey of India from the 13th century. Dandeshwar Temple is located slightly above the Jangeshwar temple complex. This temple is surrounded by dense forests of deodar. It is believed that Lord Shiva lives in this temple with his Gan, which protects this area.

Vinayak Kshetra Temple

Vinayak Kshetra is located in Jageshwar of Almora district. This place is about 200 meters from Artola village. Temple of Jageshwar starts from Vinayak Kshetra, hence it is also called holy region. The meaning of the word Vinayak Kshetra means, 'Vinayak' means "holy" and the meaning of the 'Kshetra' is "region", that is to say, it is a holy region. This place is situated between the small-big temples, such as the Vriddha Jageshwar, Jhankar Saim Mahadev and the Koteshwar Temple.

Vridh Jageshwar Temple

Vriddha Jageshwar temple is situated slightly upstream from the Jageshwar temple complex. This temple about 3 km uphill Jageshwar, called the Old Shiva, is said to be the abode of Shiva before he came down to Jageshwar. The unremitting peace they emanate is one of the most fascinating aspects about both Jageshwar and Vriddha Jageshwar.
